Join Our Family of Community Builders

A five-year pledge today will help build a stronger, more connected Jefferson County tomorrow.

Being part of Jefferson Community Foundation’s family of Community Builders means making a lasting promise to the place we call home. Community Builders commit to contribute between $1,000 and $10,000 each year for five years to support JCF operations, allowing our team to provide dependable support for local nonprofits and the neighbors they serve.

Community Builders recognize that a healthy community does not happen by accident. It thrives when people choose one another—when we lead with trust, kindness, creativity, and steady care for the organizations and local leaders who serve Jefferson County every day.

While many organizations focus deeply on one issue—such as the arts, housing, or healthcare – JCF works across these areas, listening for shared needs and helping make connections, giving us an essential landscape perspective. This unique viewpoint allows us to connect people, ideas, and resources to tackle challenges and produce long-lasting solutions.

Your Community Builder pledge is part of the steady care that ignites these solutions. It enables JCF to be an active partner in the community, respond quickly when new needs arise, and maintain a welcoming hub where nonprofits can connect, learn, and grow. (Did you know that JCF offers free meeting space to Jefferson County nonprofits as well as a free grant research database?!) Through our Nonprofit Resource Center, we offer workshops on topics like fundraising, leadership, board development and much more – all free of charge! Support from our family of Community Builders means that nonprofit leaders do not have to face their work alone.

What Community Builders Make Possible

More than 75 of your neighbors have previously joined JCF as Community Builders. Together, they make JCF’s core services possible, ones that can be tailored to meet individual nonprofit needs. Here are just a few examples:

    • Connecting a first-time Executive Directors with mentorship and volunteer support

    • Helping to convene a Welcome Center advisory group to explore long term location and leadership strategies.

    • Gathering local leaders around living-wage career pathways for young people.

    • Developing an interactive nonprofit map so residents of Jefferson County will be able to find information about all of our region’s local nonprofits in one place.

    • Conducting a Nonprofit Snapshot Series to listen more deeply to needs across the nonprofit community—so that your support can reach the places where it matters most.

    • Working with local donors to amplify their giving together and direct more dollars to local needs.

How You Can Help

We invite you to join our family of Community Builders with a five-year pledge of between $1,000 and $10,000 per year in support of JCF core programming. This enduring commitment gives JCF the steady financial foundation to serve nonprofits, donors, and community partners with care, responsiveness, and deep local understanding.

You will also be welcomed at special Community Builder gatherings, where you can connect with others who care deeply about this place, learn more about current trends, and share your hopes for its future.

Please consider becoming a JCF Community Builder this fall. Thanks to a matching challenge from the Fisher Family Fund and another generous donor, every new or increased pledge can be matched dollar for dollar up to $25,000. And if you hold your Donor Advised Fund at JCF, we hope you’ll consider directing some of those funds to core support as a Community Builder.

Thank you for believing in the power of neighbors caring for neighbors—and for helping build a future of opportunity, connection, and belonging for everyone in Jefferson County.

In the words of one of our nonprofit partners:

You are far more than philanthropists – you are living, breathing, cheering community weavers who help hold Jefferson County together. Collaborating with you has been a joy, and your support strengthens the fabric that keeps our rural teens connected, cared for, and seen. Thank you for being a steady force of generosity and belonging in our county.
