Celebrating our 20th Anniversary here at Jefferson Community Foundation has us thinking about the next 20 years…and beyond!
Our family has included the Jefferson Community Foundation in our future planning…how about yours? Here are some ways how!
Planned giving allows you to make a lasting impact on your community by supporting those and community needs that mean the most to you causes through thoughtful, strategic gifts-either during your lifetime or as part of your legacy.
JCF offers a range of planned giving options, each with unique benefits, flexibility, and opportunities for involvement. Come talk to us about them, and we’re happy to work with you, or your advisors, on how to make it so! Here are the top fours ways to give:
Bequests:
The most common form of planned giving, a bequest is a gift made through your will or trust. You can designate a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after other bequests are fulfilled to a JCF. This approach enables you to leave a legacy and may reduce estate taxes.
Beneficiary Designations:
You can name JCF as the beneficiary of retirement accounts (like IRAs or 401(k)s), life insurance policies, or other accounts. This is a simple way to make a significant gift without altering your will and may offer tax advantages.
Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Trusts:
These vehicles allow you to make a gift to JCF while retaining income for yourself or a loved one. For example, a charitable remainder trust can provide you with income for life, with the remainder going to JCF after your passing. These options often come with immediate tax benefits.
Gifts of Real Estate or Other Assets:
Donating appreciated assets, such as real estate or business interests, can be a tax-efficient way to support your JCF. These gifts may be made during your lifetime or as part of your estate.
